Phytostimulator Application after Cold Stress for Better Maize (Zea mays L.) Plant Recovery

چکیده

Phytostimulators are attracting considerable attention for replacing mineral fertilizers, which of environmental concern, being especially forbidden in organic farming. The benefit applying such products based on microorganisms (e.g., algae extract) or minerals nano-meter-sized particle nanofertilizers) is that plants can uptake them faster than soil targeting plant growth by regulating their phytohormones, as well improving tolerance to unfavorable conditions cold stress). aim this study was test and evaluate the effects three commercial phytostimulators, called biostimulants (a seaweed-based extract—Kelpak®, nanoparticles—Nano Active®, zinc nanoparticles—Dynamic Cresco®) yield, chlorophyll content, level CO2 assimilation effectiveness PSII under stress. values all fluorescence photosynthetic parameters significantly decreased cold, indicated a strong inhibition light-phase photosynthesis maize leaves. Maize (Zea mays L.).

Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation is an effective method for introducing genes into maize. In this chapter, we describe a detailed protocol for genetic transformation of the maize genotype Hi II. Our starting plant material is immature embryos cocultivated with an Agrobacterium strain carrying a standard binary vector. In addition to step-by-step laboratory transformation proced...

Association Mapping for Enhancing Maize (Zea mays L.) Genetic Improvement

Association mapping through linkage disequilibrium (LD) analysis is a powerful tool for the dissection of complex agronomic traits and for the identifi cation of alleles that can contribute to the enhancement of a target trait. With the developments of high throughput genotyping techniques and advanced statistical approaches as well as the assembling and characterization of multiple association...

A strategy for assembling the maize (Zea mays L.) genome

UNLABELLED Because the bulk of the maize (Zea mays L.) genome consists of repetitive sequences, sequencing efforts are being targeted to its 'gene-rich' fraction. Traditional assembly programs are inadequate for this approach because they are optimized for a uniform sampling of the genome and inherently lack the ability to differentiate highly similar paralogs. RESULTS We report the developme...

Maize (Zea Mays L.) Growth and Yield Response to Ethephon Application under Water Stress Conditions

The aim of the present investigation was to study the growth, yield and yield components of maize (Zea mays L.) single cross 704 under different levels of irrigation, plant density, and ethephon in southern Iran where this particular crop has not yet been studied in detail. A field experiment was performed in the 2004 5 growing season at the experimental farm of the College of Agriculture, Shir...
